A kidney stone at 36 weeks

Things have been going very smoothly. We had our 35 week appointment and Katie experienced her first exam, which was not a very favorable experience. We also recently set up our pediatrician and had our carseat installed by the fire department. Everything seemed okay, but things were about to get a little shaken up.
As you may know I was recently accepted into a graduate program and was scheduled to have my first class on Friday the 20th. Though it seemed an inconvience at the time, it was by the grace of God our class was canceled due to our instructor's flight being canceled. Katie experienced her eighth kidney stone which took us to the hospital and hours of waiting, pain medicine, and monitoring Addison.
Everything turned out to be fine and though Katie is still in a bit of pain, she and Addison are doing well. We are looking forward to our next doctor's visit on Tuesday.
We are counting down the weeks and are so excited about meeting Addison.
PS We got a sneak peek at Addison last night during Katie's kidney ultrasound and she looks great! Addison is head down and facing toward Katie's back. Interestingly, Addison's belly is measuring about 37 weeks. I guess she likes to eat.

first post

This is the first posting for our new blog. Thankfully, there is only room for improvement. Addison is only 5 weeks from making her big debut. Mom and the kids (animals) are doing great. Katie is as beautiful as ever. Tonight we head to our final parenting class where we will discuss lactation practices :-) Should prove to be very interesting. We are very busy with everything this summer and it has gone by too quickly. I'll try to post some pictures of Katie's growing stomach so you can all see how beautiful she is.
That's all for now...I'm in a technology training class and need to run! Best wishes to you all.
