Party til you drop...

We had such a fun Saturday! Addison literally partied til she dropped. She is sound asleep right now. At 9:30, we went to Jett's and Dartmouth's birthday party at Pump it Up. We rode down the slide and played. Addi had a ball! I think the cake was her favorite part because when we took it from her (she'd already eaten way too much!) she cried and screamed and put her head on the table (in her cupcake). But, she made it through! We watched the kids open presents and then headed to party #2, Avery's 2nd birthday- a Halloween party! Scroll down to read more...

(Don't ever wear "slick" pants as John calls them! WO! I flew off the bottom of the slide.)
Jett had a blast!
Dartmouth and her friends were in a serious conversation until I interrupted them.

Addison was very excited about wearing her costume (which I finished making this morning) to Avery's party. It was like 2 year old heaven at the party. There was a just-her-size jumpy, Halloween decorations, pin wheels to play with, fruits snacks, goldfish, Halloween shaped cheese sandwiches, and tons of young kids running around in costumes...Addi's favorites! It was pretty chilly but we stayed until the end. Addison was having so much fun! Ann Marie sent us home with all kinds of treats! What a precious party!

Halloween Fun

We had a fun afternoon, so here are some pictures from it. After we picked Addison up from school, we took her to Toys R Us so that she could spend the birthday ($3 off) card that she got from the Toys R Us birthday club (it expires tomorrow). She chose 2 baby bottles for her dolls. Then, we got pizza and headed home to decorate our pumpkins. John let Addi help him cut the holes and hammer the pieces in with her fist. It was lots of fun, but she was exhausted afterwards. Also, in the mail today, I received the "beanie" that I ordered for Addison. After seeing how cute Julie's ghost costume turned out, I decided to copy Julie and make one for Addi. (I haven't actually made the tutu yet). I just love the beanie and may have to order it in more colors for the winter. Addi enjoyed trying it on (while sitting in the sink). I ordered a big, black gerber daisy that clips onto the hat. Too cute!

Thanks, Kim! Horoscope fun!

Well, I had so much fun reading Kim Bailey's blog horoscopes for Logan and baby #2, that I thought it'd be fun to read about Addison (and Emerson). This is what I found out about Leos. I'd say a good bit of this is right on the money! Though, we have many more years to see what our little girl is going to make of herself.

Leo Babies are born show-offs and, from day one, your little lion will dominate the household. Leo children are the most generous, vivacious and happy-go-lucky sign of the zodiac. But expect deafening roars of protest if they don't get their own way. Leo children are born actors and love taking centre-stage, creating a lot of drama and excitement all around them. She'll create her own little kingdom from an early age, with playmates willingly accommodating her commands. Encourage this innate sense of leadership while also making it clear she can't always be the boss. But never dampen her spirits unnecessarily or scold her in front of others. All Leos are born with immense dignity and no matter how young, her ego will be easily damaged and her pride easily shattered. Your young Leo will love company and will crave attention from those around her. And when it comes to cleaning up after herself, forget it! A Leo child is far too dignified for such menial tasks as keeping her bedroom tidy. This commanding child, full of charm, may occasionally test your patience to its limits... but isn't it wonderful to have royalty in the family?

It's been a while...

It's been a while since I've updated the blog. As usual, we've been busy, busy, busy. John and I attended the Outdoor Classroom Expo the week before last. Mom kept Addison for us. We had the best time! It was like a mini vacation since we both enjoy being outside and learning! We hiked in the woods and in the creek. We made vermi-compost bins and toad abodes, and more. The food was catered and our hotel room was nice. So much fun! Thanks, Mom, for keeping Addi! Last weekend, we took Addison to Jon Daniel's birthday party. She had a ball! She played with Jon Daniel and Thomas and ran around (as it poured down rain!). John left for Camp Cosby on Wednesday, so Addi and I were by ourselves for 2 nights and 3 days. Any time John is gone, I miss him more than I can express. Addi missed him, too. In fact, on Thurs. morning, she hid behind her rocking chair and cried, "I want my daddy!" We made it through and managed to get everyone fed and ready each day. The house was a wreck, but we all survived! Today, Grandma, Grandpa, Jett, and Dartmouth came over and babysat Addison so John and I could go to school and get some work done. We've been gone so much lately that we are swamped at school. Not a fun way to spend a Saturday, but it had to be done. Addison had lots of fun with her cousins and grandparents! Now, she is sound asleep!
