Baby Ellis; Callaway Gardens

We had an exciting weekend! On Friday, our precious niece was born! Julie went into labor almost 5 weeks early so now sweet Ellis (the Christmas baby) is here (now the Thanksgiving baby)! We have a lot to be thankful for. She is beautiful, and we already love her to pieces. I can't wait to hold her again and am hating that we live almost an hour apart.

Big Sis, Eme
On Saturday, we headed to Callaway Gardens in Pine Mountain, Georgia, for the annual Fantasy in Lights show. We missed it last year and were thrilled to be back with our new little addition, Finley! We had a large crew with us this year, which was wonderful: Gigi, Eme, Randy, the boys, Aunt Glenda, Emily, Grandma, and PawPaw. John and I were married at Callaway Gardens in 2005. We like to go back each year to celebrate our anniversary. I was hoping we could renew our vows this year with it being our 5th anniversary but with all that we've have going on and with going so early this year, it just didn't work out...maybe next year. Callaway holds a special place in our hearts!

The kids played on the playground before we went into "the tent." Addi saw the tent (a.k.a. Christmas Village) and asked if we were going to sleep in it. HA!

I tried to get some pictures of the girls for our Christmas card picture. Not sure if any are good enough but we'll see...They may have to do!

Eme and Addi became "the candy cane girls" as they prissed around and danced with candy canes. We cracked up!

All we are missing is baby Ellis!

Everyone had fun in the butterfly house. I was feeding Finley but John got some cute pictures of the kids! (I only put a few on here)

Fantasy in Lights was a blast! Addi enjoyed not having to ride in her carseat. She rode in the front in PawPaw's lap (and hung out the window). The weather was perfect! In fact, we had on short sleeves! Addi was a little more calm than I expected. Finley slept in Grandma's arms through the whole ride. Being our second child, we let her sleep rather than waking her up, taking pictures, etc. Her time will come!
Gigi's crew!

Another highlight of the weekend was our trip to the animal park. We rented a "zebra" van and rode through the park petting and feeding the animals. John drove us. The van was as old as the hills. We laughed every time John stopped b/c Eme would basically slide under the seat. It didn't bother her. LOL! It was so much fun!

Addi just loved feeding the animals!
Grayson surprised us and fed every animal that came to the window directly with his hands!
Braden, of course (the animal guy), also fed every animal.
Eme wasn't quite sure. She loved holding the food and throwing it but wasn't so sure about putting it in the animals' mouths. I don't think Weston cared for the feeding part either!

Finley enjoyed having cousin Emily's full attention as she rode in style in the front seat.
Even Gigi got in on the animal fun!

Toward the end of the trip, Eme made a move and fed a few by hand! Yea, Eme!

After the ride, we walked up to Old McDonald's farm.
Finley slept soundly in Emily's arms.

What a FUN weekend! We will always cherish the memories we made together! We hope to return next year.

sick!

What a day/week! Finley has been suffering from a bad case of Bronchiolitis this week. She's been wheezing and breathing rapidly and has been to the dr. twice. She's had to use an Albuterol inhaler every 4 hours. We've been really worried about her! This morning, Addi woke up at 5:00 with 102 fever. It stayed low grade for about 5 hours and then spiked to 103. Meanwhile, John was at the library working on PhD qualifying exams (which determine whether or not he gets to continue in the program with his current classmates) while I stayed with the girls and tried to keep them apart since we're not sure they have the same virus. Unfortunately, we weren't able to go to Logan's 3rd birthday party. Happy Birthday, Logan! We heard it was a FUN party, and we look forward to seeing the video! Here are some pictures that I've been meaning to upload for quite some time.
Dr. Dudgeon called Finley a "happy wheezer." That she is!
My last attempt at keeping the girls separate while the Auburn game was on.
Finley's mohawk can be put up in a palm tree!
Gross, I know! Addi dissecting an owl pellet.
(After I posted this, I had to go back and edit it. I totally thought this was owl poop. When I came upstairs to ask John about it- out of curiosity since I wasn't home when they did it- I found out that the pellet is regurgitated b/c it can't be digested. The company who sells them to schools sanitizes them. Strange! Anyway, I learned something new! I kept wondering, how a company could sell poop- thankfully, it's not!)
She found the skull of a mouse/rat in the owl pellet.
Finley's first taste of rice cereal
I think she likes it!
Sweet cousins! One day we'll let them actually have a spend the night party together!
The Watsons- don't you love Max, the monkey, and the banana dog (forgot his name)
For Halloween, we went to Julie and Tucker's and had so much fun! We ate all kinds of snacks and went trick-or-treating.

Avery's 3rd birthday- a Kindermusic party!

the girls had a blast!!!!
Thomas' 4th birthday
The party was at Jump Zone. Addi had so much fun sliding down the slides! (so did her mommy!!!)
Jon Daniel's 4th birthday at McWane Center

Jane Fonda girls!
This was taken a long time ago. It was Finley's first trip to the pool. She basically played with Grandma and PawPaw in the shade.
My girls love their daddy!
